James Orr
Senior Lecturer in the Department Computer Science & Engineering
James Orr is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis where he serves as Master's Program Director for Computer Engineering. Professor Orr teaches courses related to computer engineering and low-level computer software (operating) systems. His research interests lie in the design and implementation of parallel real-time systems and their applications as well as computer science education.
Dr. Orr earned his BS degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Mississippi College in Clinton, MS and his PhD degree in Computer Science from Washington University in St. Louis. He and his wife Taylor have two children and attend Refresh Community Church, where he is a deacon and actively serves in the children's ministry. In his free time he enjoys sports, traveling, reading, and time outdoors with family and friends.
